Unlike its lovely predecessors, Animal Crossing: City Folk added a city. You could connect to the internet and visit your friends by trading codes to see how they were doing in their town. Now it was no longer a single-player game. Nintendo moved to handheld consoles, and Animal Crossing: Wild World was the series’ pioneer in that aspect. Dobutsu no Mori e+ followed the card system introduced in Animal Crossing. It added new features and characters that were introduced in the international version. This title was exclusive to the Japanese market. The third installment was more of a sequel for the Japanese game market with all the new additions from Animal Crossing. It introduced the card system so you could scan a villager’s card and invite them to your island. The first two titles have many similarities and only a few new characters. Like the first game, the player is a human who sets out to live with animals in a forest. This was not the most successful console Nintendo ever made, but Animal Crossing sure made its mark here. Its console of choice was the Nintendo GameCube. This was the first available to most Animal Crossing. The one that most held first in their hands in the west. It was advertised as a family and friends game, as it held no fights and no crowds of people. You could also help other villagers with their daily tasks. Activities included fishing, picking up fruit, or decorating your own home. Many forget that this was the first Animal Crossing title as it was never released in the US, EU, or any other market. It was one of the last games ever released for Nintendo 64. It was only released in Japan and later in China, but it changed the industry. Among these are being the mayor in New Leaf or the representative to an island in New Horizons.

As the games went on, more tasks were added. They do not act like regular villagers and add a lot of flavor to your adventure! As a sandbox game, you can keep crafting new things, decorating, and endlessly finding new villagers and characters to interact with. Loyal players can happily spend years on a single Animal Crossing title. Nintendo likes to take its time creating new editions. In Animal Crossing: New Leaf you have, in my opinion, much cooler unique characters! Like Franklin, who is a top chef that comes to your village to cook a delicious Harvest Festival feast! And Phineas, who comes to town when you have accomplished a new badge.The world of Animal Crossing games has captured the heart of many. Shrunk actually owns Club LOL, and if you want to collect all of his emotions you better bring him a fruit every day as exchange! Shrunk, who gives you a new emotion every time he is in town. In Animal Crossing: Wild World you would be able to see certain faces once a month, like Dr. Once you get the Island unlocked you can see Kapp'n everyday and once you get Club LOL, you can dance to K.K.'s awesome music every night! Although if you want to be able to take home his music, you still can only do that on Saturdays at 8 p.m. Slider, which you only see once in a while in Wild World, but you see quite often in New Leaf. You then can get Kick, who appears in Animal Crossing: City Folk as a shoe shiner, but appears in New Leaf as the owner of the shoe store! Then you have characters like Kapp'n and K.K. You have the new faces like Isabelle, Labelle, Reese and Cyrus, which you see every day.
